MISSION

We are a full service provider for the distribution of fresh fruit and vegetables from Spain in northern Europe.

Our customers are wholesalers, fresh-cut ready-to-eat fruit and vegetables businesses and retailers in Scandinavia, the Baltic Countries and the United Kingdom. Our extensive catalogue includes most common products, as well as specialities like organic produce, aromatic herbs and special varieties of tomatoes.

We want to grow along with our customers, helping them offer their consumers healthy, sustainabletasty products with practical packaging that are ethically produced with respect for workers’ rights.

HISTORY

The history of GreenFood Iberica began in 2004, when Jussi Alitalo, a buyer for the Satotukku company in Finland, moved to Spain after meeting his wife Isabel. His goal was establish a buying office in Spain for supplying fruits and vegetables, principally for the Satotukku company.

At that time, Jussi did not speak Spanish, so he asked his wife Isabel to help. Together, they travelled across Spain looking for fruit and vegetable producers. They would stop in towns, speaking to people in bars and cafes to find out what was produced in each area and meet producers. Little by little, this new network of producers began to bear fruit, and their business began to grow.
